All of the founding fathers, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, James Madison, and Benjamin Franklin, were strong advocates of Republican values, and that is the basis of the ARP. The people that created this country would all be Republicans if they were alive today. The ARP is a more conservative branch of the Republican party, and was started to restore the values that America was founded on - the beliefs of the founding fathers.
The American Restoration Party was founded in 1996, during Bill Clinton's first term as President. The idea for the party came about at the Republican national convention that year, when two politicians started talking about their beliefs on how our country is falling apart. Those two men are Alex Johnson, a conservative man from Texas, and Tom Smith, a conservative man from Tennessee. They decided to form a party whose intention was to restore America to the once beautiful and powerful country it was, and so the American Restoration Party was born. Over the years, the support for the party has grown, with significant growth (the support almost doubled) in 2009 and 2010. Our political platform has not changed from the time that the party started, and as our country continues to go downhill, many are deciding that the American Restoration Party is what will save us.
The symbol of the ARP was created by Michelle Reynolds in 1996. She has been a leading member of the party since the beginning, and is a huge supporter and contributor. The symbol can be found here, and the meaning of it is simply - it says our mission statement, and includes an image of the American flag because our party is patriotic and supports traditional American values.
